Moxie’s has a great atmosphere. I know that bathrooms aren’t the first thing to come to mind when talking about restaurants, but my 3 year old daughter loves the bathrooms at Moxie’s. The price at Moxie’s falls in line with most chain restaurants.

The service is nearly perfect. The only complaint I could raise would be how long it took the server to find a credit card machine to bring to the table, but most people would be drinking coffee or finishing their drinks at that point.

As well, they were able to seat a party of 8 right away on a Sunday evening, which many places would make us wait up to an hour.

I ordered the 8 oz top sirloin steak which the menu said was the most popular cut. As well, the menu stated if the steak was not absolutely perfect, you would not have to pay for it. With a guarantee like that, I thought the steak would be amazing. It was not. I could tell that the steak was a good cut. The meat was tender and juicy, but severely lacked any flavor. I told my server the steak was good, but quite bland.

She didn’t offer a free steak and I didn’t expect a free steak. If you are wanting steak, you might want to find another place to eat.

I wanted the New Asian Buffet on 8th Street, but the line was out the door, so the next thing that caught our eye was Mano’s. Once inside Mano’s, I was pleasantly surprised by the renovations, so I actually started to get excited about the meal.

The atmosphere was great, as I already mentioned it has been renovated. I think the renovation happened several years ago though. Our server kept everything moving smoothly and deserved her 20% tip. I did find the steak a bit disappointing. It tasted similar to steak I buy at Safeway (I buy cheap steaks).

The garlic mashed potatoes filled the plate, but the taste was bland. Thankfully my wife did not eat all her fish, so I was able to sample the fish, which was much better than the steak. The lemon chicken rice soup was good too. My 7 month old daughter loved the soup.

If you want to spend $25 on a plate of food, I suggest some other place. If you want a ton of food (with mediocre quality) than this might be a nice place to enjoy it.
