That line cracks me up. I have been to Bliss for lunch and it is far from fine dining. I ate a damn burger.

I love this restaurant! Saskatoon doesn’t know what fine dining is. The service was excellent and the food quality was second to none. The open concept kitchen is a bonus as you can see how they prepare your food to the highest standard.
I give it a 9 out of 10.

Pfff… Jason you are a baby! The Park is awesome and the neighbourhood adds to the overall experience. Grease and DANGER! I would avoid the Death by Cheese sandwich however, unless you own one of those portable heart resuscitators…

I’ve been looking for the best sushi place in Saskatoon for the last 3 years, with no luck. Everything I’ve tried so far (all the places mentioned and a couple of others) has been somewhere between bad and mediocre. I guess this should not come as a suprise. I don’t think it’s possible to live anywhere else in Canada that is further from the source of fresh sushi ingredients.

This place was the poorest excuse for an Asian restaurant in the city. The food was over priced for the quality it actually is. I referred to it as the “fast food” of Asian foods, but even that is a stretch. I actually had one bite and refused to eat the rest since it was an embarrassment on their behalf for butchering brilliant classic Asian dishes. I would take your money and invest it in the MANY good quality Asian places here that are run by families and people that actually have the passion for good foods from their own country.

I personally think that the sushi at Yohei is the best!
The wait is slow, but to food tastes waaaaay more authentic than any of the other newer sushi restaurants in town (plus it is run by actual Japanese cooks, more than you can say about everywhere else).
Plus unlike New Island and Noodle King, there is never any MSG in the food.

The Keg? Went there a few years back, the service was fine. It took an hour to get our food and when we got it, it was cold. I asked for a medium steak and it was straight up raw. It was horrible.

The burger is my litmus test of any diner/restaurant, and Fuddruckers does make a good one. If you want the best cheese burger in town, though, you have to go to Mel’s Cafe.

The Granary is no better than any of the other Greek mob restaurants in town. Somewhere between McDonald’s, Chili’s, and a hospital cafeteria.

Earthbound is Saskatoon’s best bet for a quick and delicious lunch. The daily baking is a feast for the eyes and the stomach; the sandwiches are creative and always fresh, and the soup…wow. I’ve never been disappointed. The owner takes his craft seriously and the selection of amazing breads is enough to turn even the most devoted low-carb devotee around. it was a bit pricey when it first opened, but they have lowered the prices recently and you can get a filling, nutritious (if you skip the cookies…but why would you?) lunch for about $10.

I hope they get enough of a following to move into a bigger space with more seating someday, but I’ve never seen someone turned away when looking to eat in and the community feel of the place is great.
